“Gold of the Baltic Sea” aka Baltic Amber is technically not a gemstone or mineral, but rather a beautiful piece of organic, fossilized tree resin that tends to glow like drops of sunlight.

For the sacred season of Lent, I’ll be setting aside my daily ‘Thou Art With Me’ bracelet and wearing the Remain With Me bracelet instead.

But because I need something simpler.

A quiet reminder that just showing up is enough.

On the night before the cross, in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked His friends to remain with Him in prayer.

They tried but they fell asleep.

Again and again.

He did not shame them.
He did not tell them they had failed.
He simply invited them back.

To stay.

And that was all He asked.

Lent begins at the foot of the cross.
Not rushing past it.
Not striving harder.
But returning—again and again.
