🌿 Today, I trust Jesus with my weakness
In the garden, Jesus spoke honestly about the human heart.
“Watch and pray… the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
— Matthew 26:41
The disciples wanted to remain with Him.
But they were tired.
And they fell asleep.
This moment reminds us that following Jesus does not require perfect strength.
It requires honesty.
Our hearts may long to stay close to Him.
But our attention drifts.
Our energy fades.
Our good intentions sometimes fall short.
Yet Jesus understands this struggle.
He sees both our longing
and our weakness.
And still, He invites us to remain.
You might pause for a moment and pray something like this:
A Prayer for Honest Hearts
Jesus,
You know my heart.
You know the places where I truly want to follow You.
And You also see my weakness.
When my spirit is willing
but my strength feels small,
help me remain near You.
Teach me to return again and again
to Your presence.
Not with shame,
but with trust in Your grace.
Amen.
Even when our strength is small,
Jesus still invites us to remain with Him.
The messages each day Marissa this week have been such a blessing. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts! Your writing is always powerful in such a practical way. Such encouragement for each of us, wherever we are in our journey. Today’s brought back something I started saying about 20 or so years ago I believe, I started to say “at the end of the day, everyday, no matter what, Love trumps it all!” and today’s powerful truth nugget which brought that to mind… Faithful Love – trumps human strength 100% of the time. What encouragement that is for every believer in Jesus Christ! We are His beloved! There is absolutely nothing more important on planet earth for us KNOW! What a blessing to “walk alongside” other believers, I always like to think, we that have placed our trust in Jesus for salvation, are all just walking each other home.
I think Jesus was speaking directly to me when I get tired & fall asleep, when my mind gets distracted during prayer or I continuely fall short. This message is so needed to remind us that we need to turn back to Jesus who will welcome us home.
So true, so true!! Thankful our Heavenly Father knows us and cares for us. Thankful he looks at my heart and understands! His great love!
