🌿 Today, I return to Jesus

In the garden, the disciples wanted to remain with Jesus.

But they grew tired.

And they fell asleep.

This moment reminds us of something very human.

Our hearts may desire to stay close to Jesus.

But our attention drifts.

Our strength fades.

And we realize we have wandered.

Yet Jesus does not withdraw His invitation.

He simply calls us back.

Again and again.

You might pause for a moment and pray something like this:

A Prayer for Returning

Jesus,

Sometimes my spirit is willing,
but I grow tired.

My attention drifts.
My prayers grow quiet.

Yet You continue to invite me
to remain with You.

When I notice I’ve wandered,
help me return.

Not with shame,
but with trust in Your grace.

Teach me to remain with You
one small moment at a time.

Amen.

Remaining with Jesus often begins simply by returning.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply noticing when we’ve drifted.

Even the disciples in the garden struggled to remain awake. Our hearts may desire to stay close to Jesus, but our attention wanders and our strength fades.

That’s part of being human.

In the Bible, Moses encouraged God’s people to surround themselves with reminders of His words—to keep them close at hand and before their eyes so they would remember the Lord throughout their day.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart… Tie these commands as symbols on your hands…”—Deuteronomy 6:5–9

It’s a simple idea, but a powerful one.

When we surround ourselves with small reminders of God’s presence, we begin to notice sooner when we’ve drifted—and it becomes easier to return again.

That’s the heart behind Hints for Prayerful Pause.

Each bracelet is meant to be a quiet reminder you carry with you through the day—something that catches your eye and gently prompts a moment of gratitude, reflection, or prayer.

Yesterday we released a new small-batch bracelet inspired by one of Jesus’ most comforting invitations:

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”—Matthew 11:28
