🌿 Today, I remain with Jesus

Lent Begins at the Foot of the Cross

Lent begins low.

It begins in honesty.
In weariness.
In humility.

It begins at the foot of the cross—not rushing past it, not skipping ahead to resurrection, but staying long enough to be changed.

And here in the garden, Jesus gives the invitation at the heart of this journey:

“Remain here, and watch with me.”

We do not walk this road all at once.

We walk slowly, faithfully, toward hope.

Not by striving.
But by staying.

Jesus,

I come to You just as I am—
tired, distracted, and in need of Your grace.

You asked Your friends to remain with You,
and You ask the same of me today.

When my spirit is willing but my body is weak,
help me return.
When I drift, gently call me back.

Teach me to remain with You
not through striving,
but through faithfulness.

As I walk this Lenten journey,
shape my heart through prayer,
draw me closer to Your light,
and help me trust the hope You hold before me.
