🌿 Today, I will not deny my need— but bring it to Him.

“I thirst.”—John 19:28

On the cross, Jesus says:
“I thirst.”

A real human need
He is experiencing.

And He clearly states it.
There is no embarrassment or shame.

Jesus shows us we don’t have to hold it in—
we can say directly what we need,
and bring it to Him.

PRAYER

Jesus,

Sometimes it feels easier
to push past what I need.

But You show me something different.

You name Your need—
simply, clearly.

Help me to do the same.

Give me the freedom
and courage to bring it to You—
without holding it in,
without waiting for it to be noticed.

And to trust
that I don’t have to hide anything
when I come to You.

Amen.

It has always been difficult, if not impossible, for me to say “I need”. This scripture has given me a new perspective on saying what I need. I will be praying about this. All of these devotions you write are such a blessing for me. Thank you so much, Marissa.

What a blessing! The freedom to lay before my Savior my need – not couched in flowery words but simple direct -“I need”. Thank you!
