A Holy Pause
God often meets us when we aren’t expecting Him—we stumble into Him in the middle of ordinary moments. In the middle of a busy day. In the middle of scrolling. In the middle of worry or distraction. Again and again in the Gospels, Jesus shows up not with long explanations, but with interruptions—quiet moments that gently redirect a person’s attention and invite them to pause, look up, and remember what truly matters.

We often think of pausing to pray as something we do apart from action—but Jesus showed us something different. Pause is action. Prayer is action. Faith is lived action. Love is the action itself. Again and again, Scripture points us toward a faith that moves—one that notices hunger and feeds it, sees loneliness and offers presence, recognizes need and responds.
In Matthew 25, Jesus doesn’t praise belief or labels. He points to simple acts of love. You fed. You welcomed. You clothed. You visited. And when the righteous ask, “Lord, when did we see you?” Jesus replies, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me.”
They didn’t know they were being righteous.
They weren’t performing religion.
They weren’t after applause.
They were simply responding to what they noticed—and they chose to love.
When asked what mattered most, Jesus kept it simple: Love God. Love your neighbor. That was it. No long list. No complicated instructions.
When love leads, everything else finds its place.
This is the quiet rhythm Jesus invites us into:
• Pause is slowing.
• Prayer is noticing.
• Faith is lived.
• Love is responding.
Faith, then, is not something we announce—it’s something we live. It takes shape in small, interruptive moments, when attention shifts and compassion has room to act.
Pause often begins in the body. A breath. A stillness. A small reminder that draws our attention back to what matters. Not to escape the world, but to re-enter it with open eyes and a willing heart.
Maybe today, the invitation is simple:
Pause.
Notice.
Respond with love—right where you are.

This message cuts to the heart of faith- Jesus-love! Thank you so much for your heartfelt message. This last year I began fearing I was losing my faith. I kept turning to the church but could not find it there where I saw so much hypocrisy! Now I realize I only need to be present wherever I am and believe that tug on my heart that says love❤️❤️
